| Games People Play? | | Does anybody here still play board games, card games, things like that offline? The not-video-or-computer-games? What are some of your favorites? We play a bunch of them -- Trivial Pursuit is one of my favorites, then we have a couple of card games -- Kings In the Corner and Phase 10.I also love Balderdash and Scrabble. Tell me about some of your favorites! | |
| | Do you still play board games? | | I have a closet full of board games that we like to play. Clue, Sorry, Candy Land, Scrabble, and my favorite, Monopoly. We still like to sit down and play them as a family. It is not something we do all of the time, but we do still enjoy playing them.
I was wondering, with all of the available video games and systems, and the access to gamesa on-line, do you still play the traditional board games? | |

| Cole's Stories 3 | | One upon a time ther was a fat guy named Jimmy. Jimmy live in candy land alone, no family at all. So one day Jimmy decided he was going to ride the maple syrup river and see where it takes him. He tied a few candy cane stalks together with some twizlers and went on his way. He traveled for hours. Then the river seemed to be getting wider, and moving faster. It continued to get faster and faster. Small chocolate chunks started to appear. Then the chocolate chunks got bigger. The river was too much for Jimmy to handle. His raft flipped and he was viciously tossed around in the rapids. He finally made it to shore. He did not know where he was. Nothing about the landscape looked similar to where he lived. There were no skittles or gum drops or lolli pops. There wasn't even any snickers. Infact there was nothing. Nothing but the maple syrup river. He didn't know what to do. The only thing he could do is try to find his way home. But home was a long way up river, he would never be able to reach home before he starved to death. So he decided to leave the river and go what he thought was east in search of a good place to spend the night. His cloths were dampened with maple syrup and he... | |
| | another great thing for kids to play with | | today was such a dreary day outside so me and my kids played candy land and stuff like that to have fun, well i have bought a huge roll of bubble wrap awhile ago and it was stuck in the closet and no one was using it,so i decided today for us to play with it and have some fun,my babies loved it,they step on it,they poped it with their fingers and just had alot of laughs.sometimes the simpliest things make them happy, and if it makes them happy,im happy too.so if your kids get bored or want a new toy try bubble wrap, its fun and they love the noise it makes. | |

| what is by far the best part of your day? | | I used to have so many "best part of my day" after pondering on this question for so long i cant just pin point one best part of the day.... for me i hate getting up so early in the morning i want to just hit the snooze button, but if i do that then i will miss out on the 10 minutes that i have to snuggle in my daugters bed with her before school.. Thats the best start of the day, we just lay there and talk about all the fun things we want to do that day or how her dreams were etc etc some mornings we just lie there and snuggle... then there's the 45 minutes later when getting sad because she is super excited to hang out wiht all her friends at the bus stop, but then "the bus is here mommy, kiss kiss, muah i love you and i will miss you.. have a good day mommy" thats the best part of my day.... then theres the "oh its 3:10 i waddle my pregnant butt down teh road to the bus stop. the bus stops in front of me and my daughter is ususlly the first one off... running to me with open arms " Hi mom! how awas your day?" thats the best part of my day and then theres the walk home and the talking about all the fun adn exciting things hse did in first grade. and then she goes out and plays... | |
| | Are you as competitive as I am? | | I am so competitive about everything! I once had to "ground" myself from playing cards with my husband and his family for a time because I was getting so upset that I was losing that I was pretty sure that they were cheating to win.I've also stopped playing Candy Land with my 3 year old because she beats me all the time. Also two of my friends and me are trying to lose 30 lbs. by the first day of summer and my husband has to remind me to encourage my friends in their weight loss instead of making it a competition! But, knowing that we're all trying to do it pushes me to try very hard so they don't "beat" me.I know I'm ridiculous, but I can't help myself. Anyone else ultra-competitive? | |
