| | Do you use your digital camera for video? | | I have a Kodak C813 digital camera. One of the features is video in 640 X 480 or 320 X 240. The 640 X 480 is standard computer video size, getting higher resolution you get into High Def. A lot of the digital camera now have video, some only have the lower resolution, but some even have High Def capabilities.Next weekend I am planning on going to the Renaissance Fair, and though I have an older VHS-C and another cheaper digital camera, I was considering using this camera for video as well as pictures. I may take both digital cameras so I can get pictures while I am taking video too.I was curious of anyone else who had a digital camera and if you use it for both pictures and video, or if you have a camera specifically for video like my VHS-C? | |

| | Boycott video games! | | I am a firm believer that children need to play a lot less video games and that we need to channel their energies into much more productive activities.We had a rule as our children grew up that for every hour they spent playing computer/video games, they were required to do something educational, whether researching or reading something on the computer or reading a book, etc. etc.As they grew older and the price of video games became more unreasonable, we chose not to have them in our home. The kids joined 4-H and participated in other school and church activities. The money we saved from not buying video games was spent on musical instruments and lessons.What do you do to remove your child's attention from video games and redirect it elsewhere? | |
| | How many of you read to your children? | | I have read to my boys every night before bed, since I found out I was pregnant.
They love it! Each night I will read each boy 2 books, they pick. Then my son Isaac will read on his own until he falls asleep. Once he's gone to sleep I will have to go in there, pull a book off his face and clean another half dozen or so out of the bed so he can sleep comfortably. I have 13 nieces and nephews and none of there parents read to them, EVER! I don't understand it. Reading encourages them to use their imaginatons. Why would most of today's parents rather instill in their children a love of television, computer & video games rather than a love of books? | |
