Talk about the intriguing world of Stacked with Daniel Negreanu!| Stacked NBA Western Conference | | Though the 8 playoffs teams in the Western Conference in the NBA is already set, the final outcome of the placings still hasn't been decided yet until the end of the regular season. Virtually, the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers have already claimed the number 1 seed in the West but the number 2 up to 8 seeds has still to be decided yet. Dallas, Denver, Utah, Phoenix, Portland, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City are all being separated by only 4 games. Dallas leads Denver, Utah, and Phoenix by a single game and over Portland, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City by 4 games. Statistically, Portland, San Antonio, and Oklahoma City doesn't stand a chance to make a crack on the top 5 spots because of the remaining game left. However, these three teams are still tied with a 49-31 record. Denver, Utah, and Phoenix are also tied at 52-28 for the 3rd to 5th place and including Dallas, the 2nd to 5th place still is undecided. A single loss could hamper any team's chances of placing a little higher the standings. Though the placings really doesn't matter much for the 5th to 8th seeded teams because of the quality of teams the West have, it matters a lot for the top 4 teams because of homecourt...
| | Now its the place for the lipsticks to be stacked in! | | 'When refrigerated lipsticks tend to have a longer lifespan' was told to me by my wife, and such a silly thought never came to me, Are any other lotters who are keeping the softy lipstick in the fridges to keep them from the summer sun and preserve them for the winters! | |
| | Shop 'til You Drop | | How often do you go shopping? Do you shop for things that you don't need just because they are on sale or you find them cheap? Are you a shopaholic?I shop very rarely. I only go shopping when I am buying things that I need or my son needs something. Buying sale is not so much my way of shopping because i decide what things I really buy. some products on sale are nor really worth it. This is because they are usually stacked too long in the storage room and they have degraded. One thing more, i don't just buy things even if they are very cheap if I don't really need them. Each of us have different views regarding shopping, please share us yours so we will know.[em]thumbup[/em][em]thumbup[/em][em]thumbup[/em] | |
| | Where do you keep your books? | | If you're like me, you're an avid reader who owns lots of books. Personally, I have trouble finding places to put them all. I have one bookshelf which I have stacked the books in horizontally so that I could fit as many books in as possible. I'm also using shelves on my desk and in my closet as bookshelves. A friend of mine would shove them all in a drawer.
Where do you keep your books? Do you have an overflowing bookshelf? Do you just check books out from the library to save yourself the trouble or do you have your own personal library at home?
| | My Bad Experience while Voting on the First Automated Election | | The story starts when I walked to the school to cast my vote on May 10. It was 8:00 when I arrived. I thought it is going to be an easy thing since the election before, it was effortless. To my surprise, when I checked the clocked it was already 3PM yet I am still on a stacked long exodus. I skip lunch just for my one vote to make sure that I can cast my vote but sad to say. My knees are shaking already maybe because of the hunger and the coldness of the big drops of the rain that I was exposed to. at 5PM I decided to go home toe at and change clothes. I thought I cant come back since the time limit is until 6PM only. Good thing was the extension of Comelec until 7PM so I immidiately went back to the school and went to the then short line. I had headache and I am with a fever now. in short, the election happened was the worst!I | |
| | do you know the pretend-to-be-busy tribe? | | there is a special kind of people. they are invariably white-collarworkers. instead of "hello", they greet each other with "are you busy lately?" their answers always indicate they are too busy. their desks are forever Stacked with piles of documents. and they can hardly turn away from the computer screen any time of the day. it looks as if they are workaholics. only that they are not. they just pretend to be. they are called the pretend-to-be-busy tribe. often times, their pile-up documents are just papers which should have been thrown into the waste basket a long time ago. the computer screen? the most common trick is to paste a novel into a work-related word document. in fact, there are many more tricks that you did not know. why do they do this? the monotony of nine-to-five, the fear of losing face if the other colleagues appear busy, and the experience that hard work has not been recognized...forget all these farfetched excuses. they just want to goof off. | |
| | UFC 112, a big, big upset | | I just got over the news that Frank Edgar defeated BJ Penn in UFC 112 and very surprisingly, Edgar won on all judges cards, one judge even scored 50-45 in favor of Edgar. Penn is known to have an iron chin and is considered as one of the top fighters in the sport and it's just a huge upset for Edgar.Another surprise that got me is Anderson Silva's unanimous victory over Demian Maia. Considering Silva's way better striking skills than Maia, I really thought that this bout would not get past the first round or if it should, not in the second. Both Silva and Maia are great Jiu Jitsu fighters with Maia having a little edge but Silva's striking is unparalleled in this fight. And for us Filipinos, Mark Muñoz just had another very convincing win. Muñoz won via a TKO in the second round against Kendall Grove and that should ice him a spot to get some matches against the higher stacked fighters. Muñoz is indeed making a name for himself in the UFC.I still have to watch each of these fights over the internet and I'm just so excited. My picks Silva and Muñoz won their matches as well as Matt Hughes over Renzo Gracie. Hughes has defeated two Gracies in his career already and on a... | |
| | John Salmons might leave Milwaukee. I'd break down the options | | After being traded from Chicago to Milwaukee during the midseason, John Salmons was an integral part on the Bucks playoffs success. After Andrew Bogut was sidelined with an injury and wasn't able to suit up for the playoffs, the Bucks were left for dead and was thought to be an easy first round opponent for the Atlanta Hawks. But much to everybody's surprise, the Bucks stretched the series to 7 games and even threatened to take the series after taking a 3-2 series lead.Despite the massive success of the Bucks and the return of Bogut for next season, Salmons might decide to leave the Bucks. For Salmons, opting out of his contract is a "good option" for him. Salmons has a player option after the 2009-2010 season and that means he could decide to stay for another year or opt out of his contract. What does "good option" mean for Salmons? Two things, he could either ask for a higher price for any team that badly needs his services or he could opt to play for a championship contending team and win a title. I'd like to break it down.[1] The free agency pool for the 2010 offseason is so stacked. There are names such as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Bosh, and... | |
| | Is the space you inhabit right now HOME?? | | I live in a small bedroom at my daughters. I have boxes stacked up all around me and am ready to move if and when I find a place. I dream of the day I can have my belongings unpacked and feel I have a home again. Is the place you are living in right now HOME or are you waiting for a better situation as well? | |
| | Is it art? ...or Emperors new clothes? | | Not long ago, I saw an exhibit in a sort of art museum... I forget what they had called it but it was a stack of those deep foil trays that take-aways (carry-outs) come in... you know the ones that have lids but these were stacked, one inside the other exactly how they are in the packs when you buy them. Any one of us could have recreated it by just opening the bag and tipping them out.
However, there it was, with a fancy name...maybe thats where the artistry lies - in thinking up the title? the 'artist' must've been laughing all the way to the bank.
There are of course, many similar examples of such 'art'. What is it that makes it 'art'. Are critics (and some of the public) just thinking theyought to see the deeper meaning and like it in the way the people raved over the Emperors new clothes in the old story?
I guess everything has an aethetic value to someone & its monetary value is as much as someone is willing to pay for it. its good that we have such diversity in what we appreciate but how do "they" decide what gets into the galleries?
