Talk about the intriguing world of Yahtzee!| Yahtzee Party is now here! | | The newest game is now out at Pogo. I don't have much time to check it out this morning but from what I'm reading, it's the same concept as regular Yahtzee and Everyone Wins Bingo. There are 13 rounds and you get 3 rolls for each one. You have 6 minutes to complete all 13 rounds and fill in your scorecard. If you finish before time is up, there's a bonus game you can play for extra tokens. If 6 minutes is too long for you, there are fast rooms. You also have the option of Classic or Wild mode. I haven't tried Wild yet but it looks like there are extra dice thrown in, such as a joker or something like that can be used to help your game. Not sure what exactly happens when your room fills the Super Yahtzee meter. It hasn't happened yet for the room I'm in. LOL...I'm interested to see how it works. If your room fills the meter, then everyone gets to play the Super Yahtzee Bonus Game. Some of the things I like so far is that you can change the color of the cup. Only two colors to start with at the moment but as you climb in ranks, I'm sure more will become available. I know it will probably be awhile before we see it but I can't wait to see what they make of it. It's been a long time since I've actually gotten the box out and played a good old fashioned game. | | Yahtzee? | | Yahtzee is one of my daughters' favorite games and as we were playing today, I was thinking about how much math it involves and I was wondering how many other people play this game. Do you play? If not, have you ever played?For those who don't know, yahtzee is a dice game that has a specific score pad and it requires you to roll 5 die of the same number to be able to get a "Yahtzee".ame. | | The games we play(ed).... | | During my first year of teaching, I asked my students to make a board game with science as the theme. One of my students raised a question which I did not expect. No, its not about how to make the project. The question was, "Sir, what is a game board?"I think most of the people of my age today grew up playing board games such as Monopoly, Snake and Ladders, or even chess. It was the best way to kill time, enjoy the company of your friends or relatives, and its not that expensive too. You dont need computers, just a bag full of chips and bottles of softdrinks are enough to fuel the fun the whole day while playing.The game of Monopoly is close to my heart. Me and my childhood friends in our province played it everyday, especially during summer vacation. It taught us a lot of values; honesty (especially when I am acting as the banker), fair play (I tried placing 5 hotels at Boardwalk), basic math (so they cant cheat me), and making decisions (to buy or not to buy?). Thinking of it probably inspired me to come up with such project for my students, and at the same time make them experience to draw cards or throw the dice. I wanted them... | |
| | Board Games....Does anyone play them anymore??? | | I just saw a commmercial on TV showing a family having a game night together. The commercial showed a family sitting down at a table playing board games. It's been years since I've played any of the old favorites like monopoly, scrabble and yatzhee to name a few. I also remember playing candyland & snakes and ladders with my daughter when she was younger (she's 20 now)[em]lol[/em].So, fellow mylotters do you still play board games as a family or with friends?
